About Camille Taylor

Stories have always been a part of who I am. Originally from Jamaica and now living in Northern Virginia, I create books that comfort, inspire, and encourage children, beginning with my debut picture book Shy Kai’s First Day of School. My writing is about helping young readers feel seen, supported, and brave as they step into new experiences.

I hold an MBA from Barry University and a certificate in creative writing. My stories are inspired by family, culture, and the little everyday moments that carry big lessons.

Family and Inspiration

I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am also a proud mother of one son, Kaihu, who inspired the book, and a loving aunt who treasures the role of guiding and supporting the children in my life.
